Dear Belmont College Community,

Let me begin by thanking each of you for your continued commitment to Belmont College and your ongoing support during this pandemic. The health and safety of our students, faculty and staff has been at the center of all of our decisions to date, and will continue to be our focus as we look ahead to the new academic year.

As you may already know, our spring commencement was postponed amid growing health concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Plans are now underway for a rescheduled graduation ceremony that will take place at the end of the year. I recognize that commencement is an important milestone in the lives of our students, and as such, the decision has been made to still have it, just at a later date.

We are so proud of our graduates and I want to thank this class for leading with grace and maturity and for serving as role models for all of us during this unprecedented time. I look forward to celebrating your accomplishments with you, as well as your friends and family.

I believe I speak for the Board of Trustees, faculty, staff and our student body in saying that we are eager to be back together on campus soon. This time of social distancing has only further established why our college community is a valued and important one.

Expect more details on the rescheduled commencement date in the coming months.
